Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event hosted by Reading between Pages that will be open from one thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:
- A theme will be posted each week (on Thursday’s)
- Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
- Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
- It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
So...I'm still reading the Beyond the Highland Mist by Karen Marie Moning. (Nearing the end which is looking promising!) The theme this Thursday is Female Person.
"He stared at the vision before him. Silver-blond hair tumbled around the most beautiful face he had ever beheld. Her face was heart-shaped, her jaw delicate yet suprisingly strong. Her lips were full and velvety plum-rich and she had spitting silver-gray eyes, She didn't seem to have a clue about her own beauty. Or she didn't care. She had creamy skin, beautiful shoulders, a slim waist, sweet flare of hips and legs that climbed all the way up to heaven."
Thanks for participating. She surely is one stunning beauty.. Love the play with words and the usage of color to describe her
ReplyDelete"legs that climbed all the way up to heaven" was my favourite line. Looking forward to next weeks theme :)
